Her journey has had its ups and downs. In a recent interview, Swara got candid as she revealed that her career is made up of roles rejected by others. She also shared some interesting trivia about her professional life.

In an interview with Mid Day, the actress revealed how her filmography is built on the roles rejected by other stars. She shared, "I always joke and say that my filmography is made up of roles that were rejected by everybody else. That I did all the stuff that nobody else wanted to do. Even my big-budget roles were ones that nobody did. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, no actress wanted to play Salman's sister, so they reached out to me." She also shared that even the big-budget roles played by her were earlier offered to someone else but because the actor opted out from the role, later she was cast for the same. “In Raanjhanaa, I was the last person to be cast because they had a sudden last-minute cancellation”, she added.

Swara played the character of a teenage mother in the educational drama ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ that was applauded by both critics and viewers. In the interview, she shared that her industry friends advised her not to take up the role as it was a “career suicide”.


Not only Raanjhanaa and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, even for Veere di Wedding and Anarkali of Aarah she was the last one approached and cast for the film. But despite all, Swara has made her space in the industry with her impeccable performances.

Talking about her upcoming projects, she will next be seen in Jahaan Chaar Yaar alongside Meher Vij and Pooja Chopra.
